Daggers were very common during medieval warfare. They were used mainly as an alternative in case the soldier's main weapon was unavailable, or in cases wherein he needed more flexibility. You could consider it as a soldier’s sidearm during the early centuries of warfare. Commonly described as long knives, daggers were used as a last resort and although quite ineffective when facing enemies with longer weapons, it was still used nonetheless. Medieval daggers were very sharp and small, and it was said that the smaller the dagger, the better it is for concealment. A very good dagger could even penetrate light armor and if the enemy was not wearing armor, it’s easily lights out for them with only one blow. It became a useful and popular tool in the battlefield for aside from being a stealthy weapon, it has the ability to get in between the seams of the enemy’s armor in close quarter combat. Daggers would later on become another sign of treachery and revenge as depicted in various events in history such as the murder of Julius Ceasar. So own a piece of history with any purchase from the DungeonKnight medieval dagger collection.
