Medieval Axes

One of the oldest developed weapons created by man is the axe and is almost as old as the club. But nothing symbolizes power and fierceness like a medieval battle axe. Not as subtle as a sword, the battle axe wasn't made for grace for it was made to get the job done on the battlefield. The axe was favored because it is as a handy tool which can be used in the woods or as a vicious weapon on the battlefield. Medieval warriors used a battle axe to hack through lines of oncoming hordes with very little effort and even the least practiced warrior could excel with it. The types of medieval axes during the medieval era were typically double sided with a strong wooden handle. The blades could be intricately made with cut outs and scroll work or just left plain. With little training required the medieval axe was very effective on the battlefield and more so when facing a fully plated armored knight. With a long history and brutal efficiency, it is easy to see why a medieval warrior would choose a good axe for battle… and you should too.
