Ancient Greek helmets are some of the most recognizable headgears in the history of warfare. The term "Greek helmets" is quite broad and there is not a single helmet that clearly signifies the Greek culture. A Greek helmet includes quite a few specific styles of headgear which includes the Trojans, the Spartans, Corinthians, and Thracian among others which would all belong under the category of Greek helmets. But the Corinthian helmet is generally accepted as the first Greek Helmet designed as based on archeological evidence. Developed during the 7th century BC, they were used well in the early on during the rapid expansion and invasion of Greece of which went on for over 500 years. Greek helmets are known by many different distinct types of helmets and these include the Corinthian, Illyrian, Chalcidian, Pilos, Petasus, Beotian, and Thracian. Some of these helmets were created with two distinct parts of metal while other designs, such as the Spartan helmet, was made from one piece of metal. However, throughout the years, these helmets were modified and upgraded to be more effective in the battlefield. With this said, DungeonKnight is proud to present some of the more popular Greek helmets for the avid collectors and enthusiasts of LARP games.
