Battle helmets were some of the most unique and effective defensive armors in the long and colorful history of ancient warfare. The helmets were good protection for the head of fighters and soldiers ever since the medieval era. Knights in armor of the Middle era wore a variety of various types of helmets and so did the Romans and the Greeks. While the helmet styles may vary from one country to another, the purpose of helmets in the battlefield always remained the same- as protection to prolong the soldier’s life.
